A suffeited and depraved people
There are many lies in here. First of all the lies that Americans would “fight fair” in an insurgency.
Here is a testimony of a black American scalping Vietnamese and shooting children. Psychotic violence in the American psyche has been a staple of their condition. The fact that America is now double tapping a girls school in Iran should be unsurprising to anyone as to how they behaved all the way back in 1950-1953 when American imperialism was dropping chemical, biological and endless munitions on Korea in order to split that country in two and prop up Anti-Communists. These two commentators would consider the 1950s the halycon days of US imperialism when it was morally upright and brilliant.
And totally not writing fan fiction in one of the most popular magazines about nuking the Soviet Union and raising the United Nations flag over Moscow.
Only in recent years was the world gifted the photos and footage out of Abu Gharib of sexual torture of muslims. The reasons defined for the sexual torture at the time, by one of the torturers, was that “muslims feel a deeper sense of shame”.
So while this is filled with melancholy wistfulness at how Americans are actually civilised (and didn’t go from barbarism to decadence with no civilisation inbetween) it at least reflects the deflated mood of the rightist intellectuals in American imperialist society.
