On the back of the revelations that Australias troops were committing war crimes in Afghanistan the Mainstream Media has circled the wagons to display this as Chinas fault. Australian soldiers were found to have slit the throats of two 14 year olds before throwing their bodies into rivers. Also of requiring new recruits to shoot prisoners in a process they called “blooding”. However, apparently, the real crime is of Lijian Zhao sharing a picture of by artist who does political art in a hyper-realistic style.
Despite the obvious political-cartoon nature of the art mainstream media has taken to calling it a “fake image”. In fact, if you really want to see how many Western outlets are pursuing the “fake image” in reference to the political cartoon you need only go to Google News and search for “Australia fake image”.
Which is just as well as I wouldn’t want to be confused in thinking that Afghanistan is literally made of Jigsaw pieces with some pieces broken off falling into a black void. Nor do I imagine that the Australian Armed Services actually provides giant Australian flags to hide the bodies of innocent people their members have murdered.
Are The War Crimes Committed By Australian Soldiers “Outliers”?
Cecil Rhoders once said
“I was in the East End of London (a working-class quarter) yesterday and attended a meeting of the unemployed. I listened to the wild speeches, which were just a cry for ‘bread! bread!’ and on my way home I pondered over the scene and I became more than ever convinced of the importance of imperialism…. My cherished idea is a solution for the social problem, i.e., in order to save the 40,000,000 inhabitants of the United Kingdom from a bloody civil war, we colonial statesmen must acquire new lands to settle the surplus population, to provide new markets for the goods produced in thefactories and mines. The Empire, as I have always said, is a bread and butter question. If you want to avoid civil war, you must become imperialists. 2
Capitalist-Imperialism needs an outlet for the violence of it’s citizens. In capitalism this is expressed in the Armed Forces where all the misfits are united in racist white supremacism and upholding capitalist values can vent their anger under the guise of Imperialism.
It is not surprise to see therefore that Australian soldiers are flying the Nazi flag in Afghanistan. We see a brief insight here that it is not indeed an outlier – but systemic.
They represent hyper-reaction and the key Cecil Rhodes discovered that if a country is to avoid a civil war and an overturning of its deeply immoral and exploitative economic system it is better to pack the young men off to carve out new markets for capitalism than have them at home.
The only people to express any concern whatsoever for the Afghani people were the Chinese.
After the furor erupted over this the artist who did the original piece produced a follow up. Which about sums up ‘which way the cameras are facing’ when it comes to the crimes of Nato and it’s puppet states.
Please donate to David McBride who was the whistleblower that brought these crimes of the Australian armed forces to light. He is facing 50 years in prison for whistleblowing – the only person to face charges as a result of the revelations of systemic human rights abuses in Afghanistan.
